About the app
Pour-over has a lot of variables you can change: beans, grind size, water temperature, ratio, pouring technique. Change several at once and you can’t tell which one changed the taste. And a log is pointless if it never informs your next brew.
Hand Drip Lab is for home brewers who treat pour-over as repeated experiments. Write a recipe, brew along with the timer, record the result, and decide what to change next — the whole loop closes in one app.
The card stays, revisions stack up
Most recipe apps make a new card whenever a value changes. Hand Drip Lab keeps the card and stacks revisions. If you brewed at 680µm, found it thin, and went down to 640µm, that’s not a new recipe — it’s revision 2 of the same one. Compare against past revisions to track which adjustment changed the taste.
Separating the plan from the result
A recipe is “how I plan to brew.” A brew log is “how it actually turned out.” Results from brewing the same recipe many times, with different beans, are kept separately, so you can find the best recipe for each bean or check how consistent a formula is.
Measurement over mood
The numbers are the stars of the screen. It’s built so people who actually dial in grinder clicks, pour timing, and water temperature can read the values they need at a glance.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it without signing in?
Yes. Choose "Browse" to start without an account, with everything stored only on your device. If you later link a Google or Apple account, your records so far are moved to the server.
Can I move my records to a new device?
If you link an account, your records sync to the server, so signing in with the same account on a new device lets you pick up where you left off. Records made in Browse (local-only) mode stay on that device.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Records you've already loaded are cached on your device, so you can view them offline. Changes sync once you're back online.
Can I import recipes I've been keeping in a spreadsheet?
Yes. After a one-time import from Google Sheets, you can edit and delete those recipes just like ones made in the app. Imported recipes are no longer linked to the sheet, so later edits to the sheet won't show up in the app.
Do I need to create a new recipe every time I change a value?
No. Use "Edit values" on the recipe detail screen to add a new revision to the same card. Use "Duplicate as new recipe" only when you want to branch off into a genuinely different recipe.
When will AI coaching be available?
We plan to add it once enough brew records have built up. It isn't included in the first version.
